Cyprian Norwid

Cyprian Norwid (1821–1883) was a Polish poet, playwright, prose writer, painter, sculptor, and graphic artist. His work reflects the cultural traditions of both Poland and France. He was the brother of Ludwik Norwid.

Biography

Cyprian Norwid was born on September 24, 1821, in the town of Głuchy. He was a Polish poet, playwright, prose writer, painter, sculptor, and graphic artist whose work engaged with the cultural traditions of both Poland and France. Throughout his life, Norwid explored various forms of art and literature, which is evident in his diverse creative output. Although his homeland was Poland, he maintained cultural ties with France, where he spent the last years of his life. Cyprian Norwid died on May 23, 1883, in Paris. He was the brother of Ludwik Norwid.
