Constantin Brâncuși
Constantin Brâncuși (1876–1957) was a Romanian and French sculptor and artist, a pioneer of abstract sculpture and a representative of modernism and the Parisian avant-garde school. He participated in the Tinerimea artistică movement.
Biography
Constantin Brâncuși was born on February 19, 1876, in the town of Hobitza. He was a Romanian and French sculptor, artist, photographer, illustrator, and architectural draftsman. His work is associated with abstraction and modernism. Brâncuși was one of the primary founders of abstract sculpture and a prominent representative of the Parisian avant-garde school of the 20th century. He was involved in the artistic movements Tinerimea artistică, Catalan Modernism, and Salonul Oficial. Among his notable works are "Bird in Space," "Endless Column," "The Kiss," "Sleeping Muse," and "Măiastra." Constantin Brâncuși passed away on March 16, 1957, in Paris.
