Claudio Bravo
Claudio Bravo (1936–2011) was a Chilean artist known for hyperrealism. Born in Valparaíso, he specialized in portraits, still lifes, and depictions of packages. From 1972, he lived and worked in Tangier, also residing in Chile, New York, and Spain.
Biography
Claudio Nelson Bravo Camus was born on November 8, 1936, in Valparaíso, Chile. He was a visual artist working primarily in the genre of hyperrealism. His body of work includes portraits, still lifes, and images of various packages. In addition to painting, Bravo practiced drawing, lithography, engraving, and created bronze figurative sculptures. From 1972 onward, he lived and worked in the city of Tangier, Morocco. Prior to this, he also lived and created art in Chile, New York, and Spain. His works feature portraits of notable figures such as Spanish Generalissimo Franco, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos and First Lady Imelda Marcos, as well as publisher Malcolm Forbes. Claudio Bravo passed away on June 4, 2011, in the city of Taroudant.
