Charles Davidson Bell
Charles Davidson Bell (1813–1882) was a Scottish-born artist who spent much of his life in the Cape of Good Hope colony. He also served as the colony's Surveyor-General and was a heraldist who designed several medals and stamps for the colony.

Charles Davidson Bell was born on October 22, 1813, in Fife, Scotland. He was a professional artist who spent a large part of his life in the Cape of Good Hope colony, now part of South Africa. In addition to his artistic career, Bell held the position of Surveyor-General of the colony. He is also recognized as a heraldist, having designed several medals and postage stamps for the Cape of Good Hope colony. Charles Davidson Bell died on April 7, 1882, in England. His work is closely linked to the culture of the South African Republic, where he made a notable contribution to the fields of art and heraldry.
