Carmelo Arden Quin was born on March 16, 1913, in Rivera, Uruguay. He was a painter, sculptor, and theorist who made a significant contribution to the development of 20th-century art. From a young age, Arden Quin dedicated his creative work to painting and poetry, showing ambition and idealism in art. Alongside other artists, he co-founded the Madí movement, which originated in Argentina and later gained international recognition. In his work, Carmelo Arden Quin prioritized invention and the creation of new forms and ideas, opposing copying and mere representation. He passed away on September 27, 2010, in Savigny-sur-Orge.
