Carlos Jacanamijoy

Biography

Carlos Jacanamijoy was born on March 27, 1964, in the city of Santiago, located in the Putumayo department of Colombia. He belongs to the Indigenous South American Inga people. Carlos is a professional artist whose creative work is recognized within contemporary Colombian art. Throughout his career, he has held more than 25 solo exhibitions, reflecting the recognition and demand for his art. Jacanamijoy's works are part of the permanent collections of several Colombian museums as well as the National Museum of the American Indian. Currently, the artist lives and works in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia.
