Carlos Almaraz
Carlos Almaraz (1941–1989) was a Mexican-American artist and a pioneer of the Chicano art movement in the USA. He co-founded the Centro de Arte Público in Los Angeles, contributing significantly to Chicano art.

Biography
Carlos Almaraz was born on October 5, 1941, in Mexico City. He was a Mexican-American artist closely associated with the Chicano art movement in the United States. Throughout his career, Almaraz made significant contributions to the development of Chicano art. He was one of the founders of the Centro de Arte Público, an organization that existed from 1977 to 1979 and was located in the Highland Park district of Los Angeles. Carlos Almaraz lived and worked in the United States, where he continued to develop his artistic legacy until his death on December 11, 1989, in Los Angeles.
