Biography
Candido Portinari was born on December 29, 1903, in Brodowski, Brazil. He emerged as one of the foremost Brazilian artists of the twentieth century and is recognized as a representative of modernist art. His creative work encompassed both painting and drawing, reflecting his professional practice. Portinari produced a number of significant artworks, including the paintings "Coffee Agricultural Worker" and "Retirantes." He passed away on February 6, 1962, in Rio de Janeiro.
