Biography

Bracha Lichtenberg Ettinger was born on March 23, 1948, in Tel Aviv. She is an Israeli and French artist, philosopher, psychoanalyst, and writer. Since the 1970s, Ettinger has held an important position among the leading intellectuals of contemporary French feminism and feminist psychoanalytic thought, alongside figures such as Julia Kristeva and Luce Irigaray. In her artistic work, she primarily focuses on painting, drawing, and photography. In addition to her artistic practice, Ettinger is known for her contributions to philosophy and psychoanalysis, reflecting the broad spectrum of her professional interests and activities. She connects the cultural and national roots of Israel and France.
