Boris Vallejo was born on January 8, 1941, in Lima, Peru. He is an American artist of Peruvian origin who specializes in the genres of fantasy and erotic art. His creative works include book covers, music album covers, movie posters, and calendars centered on fantasy themes. Vallejo’s paintings primarily depict fantastic scenes where heroes battle monsters, with both male and female characters often portrayed nude, showing pronounced muscularity and equipped with swords and other weapons. Vallejo is known as a painter, illustrator, cover artist, and poster artist. His national and cultural identity is linked to both Peru and the United States.
