Ásgrímur Jónsson was born on March 4, 1876, in Iceland. He became one of the first professional artists in his country, dedicating himself to art as his main occupation. He is most recognized for his landscape paintings created under the influence of French Impressionism. Throughout his long career, Ásgrímur explored various directions and styles in his work, reflecting the diversity of his artistic vision. He passed away on April 5, 1958, in Reykjavík. His nationality was Icelandic.
