Antoni Tàpies
Antoni Tàpies was a Catalan painter, graphic artist, sculptor, illustrator, collagist, draftsman, etcher, and lithographer. Born in Barcelona in 1923 and died there in 2012, he was a prominent figure in the international art scene of the second half of the 20th century.
Biography
Antoni Tàpies i Puig was born on December 13, 1923, in Barcelona, Spain. He was a Catalan painter, graphic artist, and sculptor, as well as a book artist, illustrator, collagist, draftsman, etcher, and lithographer. His work is associated with the Informalism movement. Throughout his life, Antoni Tàpies created numerous significant works, among which "Rinzen", "Mitjó", and "Les quatre cròniques" stand out. Tàpies' work became a notable phenomenon in the world art of the second half of the 20th century. He passed away on February 6, 2012, in his native Barcelona. He left a significant legacy in the field of art and culture in Spain.
