Anthony Poon
Anthony Poon (1945–2006) was a Singaporean artist and sculptor, recognized as a pioneer of abstract art in Singapore. Beginning in 1976, he created the notable Wave Series, which remains a significant part of his artistic legacy.
Biography
Anthony Poon was born on April 21, 1945, in Singapore. He was a Singaporean artist and sculptor who made a significant contribution to the development of abstract art in Singapore. Poon is regarded as one of the pioneers of abstract artistic direction in his country. In 1976, he began working on his most renowned series of paintings, called the Wave Series, which became an important element of his artistic heritage. Throughout his life, Anthony Poon remained an active figure in the Singaporean art scene, where he passed away on September 2, 2006.
