Biography

Andy Warhol was born on August 6, 1928, in Pittsburgh, USA. He was an American artist of Rusyn descent and a significant figure in the history of the pop art movement and contemporary art. In his creative work, Warhol engaged in portrait painting, still life, and portraiture. He worked across different genres and styles, serving as a painter, graphic designer, draftsman, illustrator, and printmaker. Additionally, he was a director, film director, film producer, and cinematographer. Warhol also distinguished himself as a producer, designer, author, screenwriter, and art figure. He was involved in performance art and created artistic installations. Among his well-known works are "Campbell's Soup Cans II", "Diptych Marilyn", "Exploding Plastic Inevitable", "Girls from Chelsea", and "Shot Marilyns". Andy Warhol passed away on February 22, 1987, in New York, leaving behind a significant legacy in the visual arts and culture of the 20th century.
