Andrey Makarevich

Biography

Andrey Vadimovich Makarevich was born on December 11, 1953, in Moscow. He is a Soviet and Russian rock musician, singer, poet, writer, bard, composer, artist, producer, as well as a television and radio host and actor. Makarevich is the founder, leader, and sole permanent member of the rock band Mashina Vremeni. His artistic activity spans rock music, blues rock, progressive rock, and authorial song genres. Throughout various stages of his career, he has performed as a guitarist, keyboardist, songwriter, lyricist, film composer, and music producer. In addition, he has worked as an artist and graphic artist and is known as a television and radio host, actor, traveler, entrepreneur, and winemaker. Makarevich has cultural and national affiliations with the USSR, Russia, and Israel. In 1999, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation.
