Amina Benbouchta
Amina Benbouchta (born December 24, 1963, Casablanca, Morocco) is a Moroccan artist, photographer, and installation artist. She studied in Canada and Paris. Early in her career, she led the magazine Les Aligés and was a member of the Collectif 212 group supporting emerging artists.
Biography
Amina Benbouchta was born on December 24, 1963, in Casablanca, Morocco. She is a Moroccan artist working in painting, photography, sculpture, and installation art. Benbouchta received her education in Canada and Paris. At the start of her professional career, she headed the fashion and cultural magazine Les Aligés. She was also a member of the Collectif 212, a community of artists and curators committed to supporting emerging contemporary artists in Morocco. Her work is internationally recognized and focuses on social issues, including gender politics.
