Biography
Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso was born on November 14, 1887, in Manselush, Portugal. He was a painter, caricaturist, and cultural figure actively involved in the development of early 20th-century artistic movements within the Kingdom of Portugal. Throughout his career, Souza-Cardoso was associated with modernism, impressionism, expressionism, cubism, futurism, and orphism. His artistic work reflects the diversity of contemporary movements of his time and is recognized as a precursor to postmodernism. He died on October 25, 1918, in Espinho. His artworks and artistic explorations embody the variety of artistic trends of the period and represent a significant contribution to the cultural heritage of Portugal.
