Alexis Hunter
Alexis Hunter (1948–2014) was a New Zealand artist, photographer, and arts figure known for her feminist work. She lived and worked in London and Borainville and was a member of the Stuckism art collective. Her legacy is preserved by the Alexis Hunter Trust.
Biography
Alexis Hunter was born on November 4, 1948, in Auckland, New Zealand. She was a professional artist, photographer, filmmaker, and arts figure. Feminism was the central theme of her creative work. During her life, Alexis Hunter lived and worked in London, United Kingdom, and Borainville, France. She was also a member of the Stuckism art collective. After her death on February 24, 2014, in London, her archive and artistic legacy were entrusted to the Alexis Hunter Trust, which is responsible for preserving and promoting her work. Alexis Hunter remains a significant figure in New Zealand art and the international feminist movement.
