Alexandra of Denmark
Alexandra of Denmark (1844–1925) was a Danish princess, artist, and photographer. She married Edward VII, King of the United Kingdom and Ireland and Emperor of India. Her life bridged Danish and British royal spheres.
Biography
Alexandra Caroline Marie Charlotte Louise Julia of Denmark was born on December 1, 1844, in the Yellow Palace within the Kingdom of Denmark. She was a princess by birth and belonged to the aristocratic class. Throughout her life, Alexandra combined several professions, including those of an artist and a photographer. In addition, she became the wife of Edward VII, who was King of the United Kingdom and Ireland as well as Emperor of India. Alexandra passed away on November 20, 1925, at Sandringham Palace. Her life and activities were connected with the Kingdom of Denmark, her birthplace, and with Great Britain, where she arrived through marriage.
