Alexandr Shilov
Alexandr Maksovich Shilov, born October 6, 1943, in Moscow, is a Soviet and Russian portrait painter and graphic artist. He was awarded the title People's Artist of the USSR in 1985 and the title Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation in 2023. He received the Lenin Komsomol Prize in 1977.
Biography
Alexandr Maksovich Shilov was born on October 6, 1943, in Moscow. He is a Soviet and Russian painter, graphic artist, and portraitist. Throughout his career, he focused primarily on portrait painting. In 1985, Shilov was honored with the title of People's Artist of the USSR. Earlier, in 1977, he was awarded the Lenin Komsomol Prize. In 2023, he received the honorary title of Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation. Shilov's artistic work is strongly connected to the cultural heritage of both the Soviet Union and Russia. Throughout his career, he has served as both an artist and a figure in the arts.
