Alex Janvier
Alex Janvier (1935–2024) was a Canadian Indigenous artist and arts figure. A member of the Indian Group of Seven, he was a pioneer of modern Indigenous art in Canada, influencing and promoting recognition of his people's art nationally.

Alex Janvier was born on February 28, 1935, in Canada. He was an artist and arts figure belonging to the Indigenous peoples of Canada. Janvier was a member of an art group called the Indian Group of Seven, which played a significant role in the development of modern Indigenous art in Canada. Throughout his life, he influenced the art of his people and contributed to its recognition at the national level. Alex Simeon Janvier passed away on July 10, 2024. His work and contribution remain an important part of Canadian culture and art history.
