Alessio Issupoff

Alessio Issupoff (1889–1957) was a Russian painter and a notable figure of Moscow Silver Age painting and Russian impressionism. Born in Kirov, he later lived in the USSR and Italy, where he became a prominent member of the Russian diaspora.

Biography

Alessio Vladimirovich Issupoff was born on March 10, 1889, in the city of Kirov in the Russian Empire. He was a painter associated with the cultural milieus of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, and Italy. Issupoff was a follower of the circle known as the "Russian Impressionists" and a significant representative of Moscow painting during the Silver Age. In later years, he relocated to Italy, where he gained recognition as a prominent figure of the Russian diaspora living there during the period of fascist rule. Alessio Vladimirovich Issupoff died on July 17, 1957, in Rome.
