Aleksei Gritsai
Aleksei Mikhailovich Gritsai (1914–1998) was a Soviet painter and educator known for his landscape works. He was a full member of the USSR Academy of Arts and was named People's Artist of the USSR in 1974. He received the USSR State Prize in 1978.
Biography
Aleksei Mikhailovich Gritsai was born on February 22, 1914, in Saint Petersburg. He was a Soviet painter, educator, and graphic artist whose creative work mainly focused on landscape painting. Over the course of his career, he became a full member of the USSR Academy of Arts. In 1974, he was awarded the title People's Artist of the USSR. Gritsai was also honored with the USSR State Prize in 1978, in addition to receiving two Stalin Prizes of the third degree. Apart from painting, he contributed as a teacher and a writer. Aleksei Mikhailovich Gritsai passed away on May 6, 1998, in Moscow. His nationality was Soviet.
