Ekster engaged in cubo-futurism and suprematism, contributing significantly to Russian avant-garde art. Her work spanned painting, graphic arts, design, and theater. She also worked as a costume artist, illustrator, stage designer, and textile artist. Throughout her career, she demonstrated versatility in multiple fields, including scenography and theatrical design. Ekster had cultural ties to the Russian Empire, the USSR, and the Ukrainian language. She passed away on March 17, 1949, in Fontaine-au-Rose, France.
