Albert Namatjira
Albert Namatjira (1902–1959) was an Australian artist and botanical collector of the Arrernte people. Born in Hermannsburg, he became a leading figure in the Hermannsburg watercolour landscape school, known for his depictions of desert scenes in watercolor.

Albert Namatjira was born on July 28, 1902, in Hermannsburg near Alice Springs, in Australia's Northern Territory. He was an Aboriginal man from the Arrernte group. His birth name was Elea. Namatjira dedicated his life to painting and botany, working both as an artist and botanical collector. His artwork focused primarily on watercolor landscapes, portraying the desert regions of Australia. Through his unique style and technique, he became the principal representative of the Hermannsburg watercolour landscape school. Albert Namatjira passed away on August 8, 1959, in Alice Springs, leaving a significant mark on the history of Australian art and culture.
