Biography

Adalbert Mykhailovych Erdeli, originally named Béla Hríč, was born on May 25, 1891, in Klimovice. He was a Ukrainian artist and one of the founders of the Transcarpathian school of fine arts. Erdeli's work includes portrait painting. Besides painting, he was engaged in sculpture and worked as a teacher and art instructor, as well as a portraitist. The artist's national or cultural affiliation was connected to Hungary. Adalbert Erdeli passed away on September 19, 1955, in Uzhhorod.
