Abd al-Samad
Abd al-Samad (1500–1593) was a Persian and Indian painter, miniaturist, calligrapher, and nobleman of the Mughal court. Born in Shiraz, he worked in Persia and India and significantly influenced the development of Mughal painting in the latter half of the 16th century.

Abd al-Samad, also known as Khwaja Abdus Samad and Abd al-Samad Shirazi, was born in 1500 in Shiraz. He was a Persian and Indian painter-miniaturist, calligrapher, and nobleman of the Mughal imperial court. Throughout his life, Abd al-Samad worked in both Persia and India, combining the roles of artist, calligrapher, and manuscript illuminator. His creative activities had a profound influence on the development of the Mughal painting school in the second half of the 16th century. Abd al-Samad died in 1593, leaving a significant artistic legacy in the field of Eastern arts.
